How do I know that Smiley Touch receives enough power?
The screen of Smiley Touch does not function properly if the power supply is insufficient. The screen goes black or into an ON/OFF loop. If this happens, we recommend you check all cable connections by following the instructions in What to do when your Smiley Touch does not start.
Do I get a notification if the Smiley Touch is unplugged?
Users who have access to the experience point associated with the Smiley Touch receive an email notification when Smiley Touch has not received power for one hour. For more information on how to adjust your notification subscriptions, read Subscribe to power status notifications.
Does Smiley Touch need a Wi-Fi connection?
No. There is a protected SIM card inside Smiley Touch, which automatically uses a mobile network to send data to HappyOrNot Analytics.
Is the camera always enabled?
No. The camera is only enabled when you have turned on a feature that requires it, such as demographic data or gesture-based feedback. Otherwise the camera is not active.
Are the images taken by the camera saved anywhere?
No. Any images taken by the camera are only analyzed by the Smiley Touch and are automatically and permanently deleted immediately after the analysis. The images are analyzed locally and no images are ever sent to the HappyOrNot server. Only the corresponding feedback data is saved and sent to HappyOrNot.
Does the use of the camera affect the privacy of the feedback-giver?
No. Because no images or any other personal identifying information about the feedback-giver is transferred or stored after they’ve been analyzed, the use of the camera is compliant with Privacy Laws.
How can I change the survey settings (survey question, follow-up options, user interface language, etc.)?
Survey settings (survey question, follow-up options, user interface language, etc.) can be changed in HappyOrNot Analytics if you have Admin access. For more information see Change survey question or follow-ups and Change opening times.
Why is Smiley Touch not updated even though I changed the survey settings or question?
The changes can take up to an hour to be updated to the Smiley Touch. You can manually sync Smiley Touch to update the settings immediately.
Is it possible to have multiple user interface languages so that respondents can select their preferred language?
Yes, you can enable up to 9 user interface language options on Smiley Touch.
Can we remove the Smiley Touch from the leg to use it as a mobile feedback-collecting device?
Yes, this is possible. Note that a fully charged battery will only last 6-10 hours when removed from the power source.
