When you turn on Smiley Terminal for the first time, it will start searching for the local network to connect with. This will take 1-2 minutes, during which the LED light will flash red.
Signal is found
After the search, when the connection is made, Smiley Terminal gives a long beep and the LED light turns green. This mean that the Smiley Terminal is ready for use: buttons work, there is a short beep and a green or red led light flash after every button press, and the Smiley Terminal starts sending feedback data to HappyOrNot Analytics
Signal is not found
If the local network signal is not found, the connection cannot be made. There is neither sound effect nor LED light when you push the buttons. This means you need to locate the Smiley Terminal to a different location with better signal. In the new location, do a hard reset, which will force the Smiley Terminal to make a new attempt to contact Analytics. If a network is now found, the LED light will turn green.
Note: The LED light turning red does not mean that Smiley Terminal is broken or malfunctioning, it only means that the connection cannot be made at that moment.
When network registration takes a long time
Sometimes it can take a longer time (several hours) for Smiley Terminal to register into the local operator's network. This might happen, for example, when multiple Smiley Terminals are activated in the same location, in which case some Smiley Terminals make the connection, but others do not. Unfortunately, in these situations, HappyOrNot cannot help and the only thing to do is wait and try making the connection again.
