Foresights is a part of the Professional package. If it is not in your service package, you see a diamond symbol (User-added image). Your HappyOrNot contact person will be happy to give you more information on the feature.

Foresights makes it easy to spot patterns in service performance by providing information on high and low-performing days of the week that our statistical calculation detects from your feedback.

This helps you direct corrective actions to the appropriate groups or experience points (locations), and days of the week. It also makes enforcing good performance easier with verified statistical information on what works well.

The analysis period for patterns is 8 weeks, which is sufficient to reflect the corrective actions that you have taken or inform you about a change in your organization. Please note that during the 8-week analysis period, you need at least 6 weeks when you have 30 or more responses on 4 days of the week so that Foresights can be generated. Occasional days with less feedback (public holidays, for example) will not prevent the pattern analysis.

Subscribe to Foresights

  1. Go to My profile > Subscriptions and select Add new.
  2. Select the group or experience point for which you want to receive notifications about patterns. You can make a subscription for only one experience point, or you can include a selection of groups or experience points in one subscription.
  3. Select Foresights as the subscription type.
  4. Select if you want to subscribe to daily, weekly, or monthly Foresights.

When a recurring pattern is detected, you will receive a push notification in the HappyOrNot app or web browser (your browser must be notification-compatible).

If you no longer want to receive notifications, you can either remove a specific subscription, or go to the Foresights page and click the bell icon to turn off all notifications.

Foresights page

On the Foresights page, you will see a list of recurring patterns. Each card gives the basic details of the emerged pattern: the experience point or group and the day of the week and the time when the pattern was detected.

High performance is shown with a green upward arrow and low performance is shown with a red downward arrow. You are also notified if there are no patterns detected.

You can group your Foresights findings by survey (default) or by subscription. Click the arrow next to the number takes you to view the full history of Foresights findings.

Click a pattern notification to go to a more detailed view. There you will see the experience points or groups that are included in the pattern calculation, the survey question, the trendline for all the days of the week (in blue) and either the green or red dots indicating the recurringly high or low performing days.

There may be situations during the 8-week analysis period that a low-performing day of the week has performed exceptionally high, or a usually high-performing day of the week has performed lower. These exceptions to the pattern are shown as grey dots on the chart.

These examples below show patterns based on responses collected by Smiley Terminal on the left and Smiley Touch on the right. When feedback is collected by Smiley Touches, you can also see the top 2 highlights or pain points; Something else and Staff in the example below.

In the chart, you can toggle between the performance index and the hourly-pattern heat map.  The hourly pattern (as shown below) represents the positive or negative difference of the performance index to the trend for all days of the week at that point in time.

By hovering on the heatmap, you can see the number of responses and the performance index at the specific point in time.
