See also: How to check Smiley Touch battery level.
Depending on the model of the Smiley Touch, this may be normal behavior. To extend the lifetime of the battery most Smiley Touch models will only charge up to 80% charge. Some models can also vary the power level between 50-80% if the Smiley Touch has been plugged in to a power supply for a long time without breaks.
However, if the battery level is regularly lower than this, it may be an issue with the cable connections or a faulty cable.
Check cable connections
Unplug the Smiley Touch from the power supply and then disconnect and reconnect all the cable connections to make sure they're correctly attached:
- The tablet to the user interface cable
- The cable on the underside of the base plate.
FInally, plug the Smiley Touch back into the power source. If the power supply is plugged in before the cables are connected, it can trigger a safety mechanism that limits the power to the device.

Test for a damaged cable
Connect the cable attached to the tablet directly to the power supply. If the Smiley Touch works normally after doing this, contact HappyOrNot Support to get a new cable.
If you are contacting HappyOrNot Support about this issue, please include the model of the Smiley Touch. You can check it from the Smiley Touch device information screen.
