Do all Smileys products support alerts?

Alerts are supported by all Smileys products, except old V1 Smiley Terminals. Note that you can add alert triggers for experience points linked to Smileys products that don't support them - the alerts just won't work - so if you have old Smiley Terminals in use, please make sure that you don't add triggers to them.

Is there a limit to how many users can subscribe to alerts?

No, there is no limit to the number of subscription recipients.

How quickly after activation is Real-time Collaboration ready to use?

For Smiley Terminal, the feature usually becomes active within 24 hours. For Smiley Touch and Smiley Digital,
Alerts it becomes active immediately.

When are alert notifications sent?

Analytics is run once the data is uploaded and notifications are then sent out if the criteria have been met.
This process may take a few minutes.

When is the data analyzed for potential alerts and what data is included in the analysis?

The feedback data is analyzed every 15 minutes.
For Smiley Touch and Smiley Digital, it happens at hh:01, hh:16, hh:31, and hh:46.
For Smiley Terminals it happens at hh:03, hh:18, hh:33, and hh:48.

For a 15-minute monitoring period, the corresponding slots included in the analysis are [hh-1]:45-hh:00, hh:00-hh:15,hh:15-hh:30, and hh:30-hh:45. Similarly, for a 30-minute monitoring period, the corresponding monitored
slots are [hh-1]:30-hh:00, [hh-1]:45-hh:15, hh:00-hh:30, and hh:15-hh:45.

Is it possible to see who has received a notification of an alert?

Unfortunately not.

Do alerts affect the battery life of a Smiley Touch or Smiley Terminal?

Smiley Terminal communicates with HappyOrNot Analytics more often when alerts are enabled, which affects the battery life. The battery life is of a Smiley Terminal with active alerts is expected to be about 6-12 months. Local network and other environmental conditions may also affect battery consumption.

The amount of data transferred is typically not a significant contributor to battery consumption. The most important contributor to battery consumption is network registration time (that is, how long the terminal waits for the network to let it through, once it attempts to connect). Typically, the more often the terminal connects, the shorter the registration time, but this depends very much on the network being used.

Alerts do not affect the battery life of Smiley Touch because it communicates the results continuously with or without active alerts, and it should be mostly operated while plugged into the power source.

How long will an alert be active?

Alerts remain open if no new feedback is received or the trigger values stay exceeded during the
subsequent alert monitoring windows. Alerts are closed also when the survey opening hours end. For the 24-hour surveys, an alert is closed after 24 hours, if there is no new feedback. All alerts are closed at the latest after they have been open for 2 days.

How can I see all the locations that have the alert feature activated?

Go to Admin > Surveys. Experience points with alerts are marked with a bell icon.

How long is an alert active?

Alerts feature stays active as long as the survey is active. Admin user can disable the Alerts feature from
the Surveys section.
