Experience point structure in HappyOrNot Analytics

This article gives you some examples of how to build a well-functioning organizational structure in the HappyOrNot Analytics to get reports from all the necessary levels. HappyOrNot creates the first-level group (Organization ABC, in the example below).

For more information on the three main concepts HappyOrNot Analytics, read HappyOrNot Analytics and its main components.

Here is an example of an organizational structure: Organization ABC has 2 offices and 4 Smileys. There are two Smileys in the London office (Lobby and Exit door) and two Smileys in the Paris office (Canteen and Bathroom). In addition to this, the organization also has a Smiley Digital on its website. In this structure, the Smileys are assigned to experience points Lobby, Exit door, Canteen, and Bathroom. Each Smileys product has a unique serial number (physical device) or token (Smiley Digital).

How to add a new parent group (that has no Smileys assigned)

  1. Go to Admin > Experience points.

  2. Click on the three dots on the right side of your organization, and select Add group

Important! You cannot add surveys to groups, only to experience points.

Settings for a new parent folder

The settings of a group  (like timezone, active weekdays, opening hours) are automatically inherited by any experience points created under it. Note, however, that if you edit the settings for a group, existing experience points under it will not be updated to match the new group settings.

Name

We recommend a name that is easy to recognize in your organization, for example, London office or ABC Headquarters

Public name

This name is used in social sharing and related print sharing, Live Sharing, and Real-time Collaboration push notifications. This name is also visible on the Alerts page and Alerts details in Analytics. If you do not type in a public name, the group's name will automatically be used in the survey results and reports.

Timezone

The timezone of this folder and the timezone of any experience points created under this group. Smileys assigned to experience points under this folder will automatically be in this timezone.

Active weekdays

Only responses during the selected days are included in the survey results. Responses outside these days will be excluded from the survey results.

Opening hours

Only responses during these hours are included in the survey results. Responses outside these hours will be excluded from the survey results.

Terminal response interval

The minimum time (seconds) to wait until the next button press (response) is included in the survey results. For example, if the Smiley Terminal response interval is 5 seconds, and the buttons are pressed 4 times within 5 seconds, only the first button press will be included in the survey results. The other 3 responses will be excluded from the survey results, and can only be viewed though the CSV export.

Languages (Smiley Touch and Smiley Digital)

Use survey default language

The default language of the survey at this experience point.

Set available languages

There can be several additional display languages for Smiley Touch and Smiley Digital products, meaning that respondents can choose the language in which they want to give feedback. The surveyallocated to this experience point must have the survey question set up in the additional languages.

For more information, see How to set up a survey with multiple languages.

Main language

This is the default display language.

Additional languages

These languages will be available for the feedback giver to choose from. There can be up to 9 additional languages.

Ask for open feedback

If this box is ticked, the Smiley Touch/Smiley Digital asks for open feedback.

Add a new experience point and assign a Smileys product to it

  1. Go to Admin > Experience points.
  2. Click on the three dots on right side of the group under which you want to create the new experience point.
  3. Select Add Experience point

IMPORTANT! Do not create experience points under another experience point that already has a Smileys product assigned.
